How to Wake Up from a Moving Nightmare
September 3, 2014
Moving from one location to another can easliy be very stressful. Sometimes, without proper planning or just circumstance, it can become a nightmare. Here are a couple of horror stories, and what we would do to suggest how to avoid them.
A couple was moving to a new apartment in Oklahoma City. The movers arrived at their old apartment on time, packed everything away without any incidents. The couple made their way out to Oklahoma, and their new apartment, where their moving truck showed up promptly as well. What the couple didn't know, however, was that their new landlord was not expecting them for another two weeks and had been doing renovation to the apartment. The whole place was covered in dust, with build tools and supplies scattered on the floor. The couple ended up having to store their belongings for the two weeks and stay in a hotel room until the apartment was ready.
Texas Moving Co., Inc (TMC) has project managers that consistantly communicate with you regarding every detail from packing --> pickup --> travel --> arrival. Through personable contact between the customer, mover, AND the landlord, this nightmare could have been avoided.
A local business chooses a cheaper company to relocate their offices. Everything is going well until the final day of relocation. An uncertified truck driver from the moving company hits a walking pedestrian while they were backing out. The pedestrian suffers multiple fractures to her lower body. As a result, the moving company, and the company being moved is sued for several millions.
The cheap moving company hired temporary laborers that were not insured. When a customer is looking for movers for a commercial or residential move, it's always the smart decision to work with a moving company that has full time mover employees. All of TMC's moves are staffed full with time employees, and the company is insured for any unforseen circumstance.
In closing, it's very wise to consider every aspect of your move. Not only would you have to consider the timing, but the company you are using as well. That is why "MAKE THE RIGHT MOVE" is our motto. We take that very seriously.
